World COPD Day
Big Baton Pass

20th November 2024

Highlights from Last Year

Raising the awareness of being active and pulmonary rehabilitation is essential

“I will pass the baton on to all my fellow patients and urge them to get involved in advocacy and spreading awareness. Your voice is needed. Together we can do this!”

Phyliss DiLorenzo, patient advocate, living with COPD.

“In the spirit of World COPD Day, and for the days that follow, I humbly propose that the Pulmonary Rehab Program be expanded beyond its current 12-week cycle. A 24/7 service would provide individuals the flexibility to access this life-changing program when they need it most, ultimately empowering them to reclaim the precious gift of life through the ability to breathe more easily and comfortably. After all, breath is life.”

Rashid Mughal, patient advocate, living with COPD, graduate of the Pulmonary Rehab Program at Queensway Health Centre.
